10 Badass Knife Money Clips

This post was updated in April 2020 with more current models. It was originally published in August 2017.

Wallets are large, uncomfortable and bulky (if you’re lucky). But if you’re the kind of guy who’s bent on keeping your pockets as unobtrusive as possible and aren’t bogged down by rewards cards from places like Petco or Panera Bread, ditch the wallet for something a little more discreet and fashionable: a money clip.

The money clip is straightforward, unassuming, and typically boasts a nice metal design that’s more durable than any leather wallet. And to kill two birds with one stone, many money clips also double as a pocket knife.

To help you in your search for a new money clip and pocket knife, we’ve broken down some of the most interesting knife money clips.

SOG Cash Card

Money and a knife. Is there anything else you really need to carry? The SOG Cash Card was designed with this purpose in mind. It features a minimalist design with cutouts that keep the weight at a reasonable 2 ounces. The best part is the functional 2.75-inch liner locking blade. The handle is stainless steel.

Victorinox Swiss Army Money Clip

The Swiss Army knife is the ultimate multitool, so it makes perfect sense to attach a money clip to it and make it a full-fledged multitool that’s the only thing in your pocket. The Victorinox Money Clip model has a blade, scissors, and nail file with cleaner. This model actually comes in three colors.

The late Ed Halligan wanted a knife that kept to the motto “Keep It Super Simple” (or Keep It Simple Stupid), so he made the K.I.S.S. The knife was picked up by CRKT and was unveiled at the Shot Show in 1997. It became an instant it. This design is as basic as they come.

It has a 2.25-inch frame locking blade and a basic steel handle. The design and clip makes this perfect for using as a money clip.

Gerber Key Note

The Gerber Key Note can fit comfortably in our post on the best keychain knives, but this has the added benefit of doubling as a money clip. The keychain ring can be easily removed, leaving the clipped handle and 1-inch blade.

Boker Plus Credit Card

Credit card knives are all the rage these days, but those designs require assembly and are often quite useless. John Kubasek designed his own credit card knife and the results are spectacular. The knife itself is shaped like a credit card and amazingly thin. It still has a 2.25-inch blade that can open with one hand and locks with a frame lock. But it’s only 1.1 ounces.

The best part about the shape is that the whole setup is not awkward in the pocket when you use the clip to carry money and actual credit cards. It all just works together perfectly.

CRKT Tighe Dye Boxed Set

OK, this one is cheating a little bit, but a few years back Brian Tighe created a series of objects for CRKT. The brand put them together in a set that gives you a matching knife, belt buckle, and money clip. It’s been discontinued, so get it while you can.

Gerber EAB Pocket Knife with Clip

Although this convenient utility knife is not explicitly made to be a money clip, the clip doubles as one. If you don’t want to attach the Gerber EAB knife to your pocket, it easily holds your money and a few cards you might need. The blade is replaceable as well.

Check out the Gerber EAB Lite for a different design.

HallMark MoneyClip Knife

Hallmark is known for its budget knives at discount prices, but that doesn’t mean they don’t make some stirring knives. This Hallmark Money Clip Knife is a multitool with scissors, a nail file, and a blade.

Gerber GDC Money Clip

The Gerber GDC series (Gerber Daily Carry) has given us a lot of interesting products, including zippers that are also multitools. One of the additions to the series is this good-looking money clip. The GDC Money Clip can hold five cards, has a G-10 front plate and is made of rust-proof materials. The best part of the money clip is the 1.75-inch blade that’s hidden inside.

Boker Plus DW-2

The DW-2 is a tiny knife from Chad Los Banos. The DW-1 may be too small, but the DW-2 offers a similar design with a slightly more functional 1.6-inch blade. The clip on the back makes a great money holder.
